As the Spring Split playoffs commence in many regions, anticipation builds for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2023. G2 Esports’ Rasmus “Caps” Winther recently revealed his desired opponent for the upcoming global event. In a March 27 interview with Cybersport.pl, the mid laner expressed his hope to compete against T1 at MSI 2023, although the Korean team has yet to qualify.
Caps confidently stated, “I’m definitely looking forward to playing against T1, yeah, if they make it, but I believe they will.” He also acknowledged the uncertainty of which teams will qualify from the Eastern regions.
So far, G2 is the only team to secure a spot at MSI 2023 by winning the 2023 LEC Winter Split championship. The remaining European team will be determined through the 2023 LEC Spring Playoffs, while the other regions’ Spring playoffs will finalize the teams heading to London for the international tournament.
T1 is a strong contender for MSI 2023, having advanced to the third round of the 2023 LCK Spring Split playoffs by defeating KT Rolster in the second round. They now have two chances to secure their spot, as they will move to the lower bracket if they lose to Gen.G.
This increases the likelihood of a G2-T1 faceoff at the Copper Box Arena in London. MSI 2023 is set to begin on May 2.
