IO Esports and Epulze have announced the Bali Major 2023, which will be the final major of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) before The International 12 (TI12).
The event will run from June 29th to July 9th, with the grand finals taking place at the Ayana Resort, a luxurious 5-star resort in Bali, from July 7th to 9th.
This marks the first Valve event in Indonesia and a significant moment for the country’s Dota 2 community, which has a passionate and dedicated player base.
The Bali Major 2023 website promises to offer a unique intersection between professional Dota 2 and a relaxing getaway, with various fan activities planned. Facilities available at the venue include 14 swimming pools, a secluded beach, 26 dining destinations, and activities showcasing Balinese culture and traditions.
The tournament will feature 18 of the best teams from each DPC region, and it will award the highest amount of DPC points needed to qualify for The International 12.
The event’s prize pool is set at $500,000 USD, and teams will be giving it their all to secure the highest number of DPC points possible.
Kenchi Yap, CEO of IO Esports, stated that the Bali Major is a significant event for all Dota 2 fans, especially those residing in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Pontus Lövgren, Co-Founder of Epulze, expressed his pleasure in being a part of this big step forward for the Dota 2 competitive scene.
