Why is Atakhan so Unique?
Atakhan boasts two unique forms, each offering game-changing effects for the team that secures his favor:
Voracious Form
- Rebirth Buff: As in Guardian Angel, all team members receive one resurrection.
- Blood Rose Growth: Blood Roses will appear from time to time in the places where champions have died, giving teams:
- Bonus XP
- Permanent stacking Adaptive Force (damage boost) for every Blood Rose picked up.
When and Where Does Atakhan Appear?
Atakhan’s form and spawn location are determined by gameplay dynamics:
- Spawn Side: The side of the map with the most champion damage and kills (not objectives) by the 14-minute mark. Riot has added an arena indicator to show where the monster will spawn.
- Form Selection: Matches with more actions and kills will benefit the Ruinous Form, while those with less action and kills will benefit the Voracious Form.
When Can You Fight Atakhan?
Atakhan appears only once per game at 20 minutes, which makes it a very important objective.
- Baron Nashor Spawn Time Adjusted: To make room for Atakhan, Baron Nashor now appears at 25 minutes, five minutes later than it used to.
- Rift Herald Changes: Rift Herald appears at 16 minutes, allowing the teams to concentrate on the early map control before switching to Atakhan.
- Unlike Rift Herald, Atakhan will stay on the map until he is killed, which will make teams think about when they want to fight for him or when they want to capture him.
