Astralis and Falcons First Eliminated at BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024

The Group Stage of the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 is over, and after two days of CS2, we already know who will compete in the Playoffs. Unfortunately for some, that also means early exits. Here, Astralis and Falcons were the first to be eliminated from the tournament after suffering two consecutive defeats. Interested in how it all played out? Let’s take a closer look at the main events.

Astralis and Falcons Disappoint

The last few Tier 1 CS2 events have not been kind to Astralis and Falcons, and the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 was no different. Both teams remained in the same state and got knocked out after not being able to build any form of momentum in their first games.

For Astralis, it was as if the cadiaN controversy was never going to end. Other team captains complained to the league that he was not qualified to play even though he was added as an ‘emergency substitute’. This tension was clearly evident on the server. Astralis only won a single map in their matches against Vitality and Spirit, and none of their players really stood out. This new lineup, introduced under such drama, failed on debut, and people are wondering how the team will come back from it.

The same can be said about Falcons, who also had a similar story. Their roster seemed uncoordinated and ineffective during the matches against NAVI and FaZe. In the post-match interview, Zonic, the team’s coach, admitted that changes are inevitable. It appears that this roster is already doomed, with speculations about NiKo joining in 2025. At the moment, none of the current players demonstrated that they are capable of playing alongside such a star, and their elimination proved that to the hilt.

NAVI and Vitality Secure Their Place in the Semi-final

NAVI and Vitality were two of the highest-ranked teams entering the event, and they have not disappointed, securing their places in the Semi-Finals and dominating their group stage matches without losing a map. The two teams are still in great shape and appear to be well-placed to make a charge towards the final stages.

NAVI started their journey with the match against Team Falcons, which they were expected to win, and then moved to the upper bracket match against G2. Even though G2 tried their best, NAVI’s iM, b1t, and w0nderful were simply too strong for them, and NAVI claimed another win. NAVI is coming from the ESL Pro League S20 title and they are only getting stronger, proving that in Copenhagen.

Meanwhile, Vitality kicked off their campaign against Astralis and made a statement with a devastating 13:0 map win. It was especially sweet for Vitality as their Danish opponents have been quite the dramatic team to face recently. They continued with another perfect series against Team Liquid, and as always, ZywOo was the star of the show. Vitality is leading the tournament, and with ZywOo playing as he is, they are a force to be reckoned with in the Playoffs.

A Grand Final Showdown?

As NAVI and Vitality are on the opposite sides of the Playoff bracket and both teams are in great shape, people are already talking about the possibility of a Grand Final between these two titans. These are the favorites and as the competition progresses in the coming days, everyone will be waiting to see if they will maintain their perfect record.
