There are some big changes coming to VALORANT! Riot Games is changing things up in Patch 10.0 with a much-awaited map swap. Players have been voicing their opinions on Ascent, and Riot has answered—though Ascent is not gone, it is being replaced with Sunset. And occupying their positions in the map pool will be Fracture and Lotus to provide players with a new ground for 2025.
VALORANT’s Map Rotation in Episode 10
During the recent update video on VALORANT’s official YouTube channel, Riot explained their new approach to map rotation. Since the beginning of Episode 10, the developer has assured that there would be a dynamic map pool that would change every Act. For both the occasional player and the professional, this means that the map pool will be rotated on a regular basis, thus keeping the competitive experience fresh throughout the year.
This change affects not only the Competitive queue but also VALORANT esports competitions. The new map rotation will be implemented in the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), Game Changers, Challengers, Premier, and other competitive events to ensure that the map pool is the same for all levels of competition.
Patch 10.0 Restores Some of the Most Popular Features
As for now, VALORANT Patch 10.0 officially brings the curtains down (for now) on Ascent and Sunset. Fracture is a map with a different layout and angles, which will definitely change team compositions and play styles when it is returned. Also, the return of Lotus brings a new element to the game and gives players even more chances to think and act as they prepare for the 2025 VCT season.
