Arcane Fans Call For The Release Of The ‘Extra’ CaitVi Scene

Arcane Season 2 was a hit, and fans were eager to see the development of the love interest between Caitlyn and Vi.
One of the many shocks was a love scene between the two which caused much controversy. Now, fans have gone to social media and other platforms
demanding the directors cut of this scene after it was revealed that the final scene was heavily watered down.

A Petition for More CaitVi

A Change.org petition called “Release Caitlyn and Vi’s Extended Cut” has quickly gained popularity since it was created on November 27 by
RotemChan_. Within a few days, the petition has collected almost 30 thousand signatures, which indicates the desire of fans of
Arcane to see more of the favorite duo.

The description of the petition reads: As fans of Arcane, we were excited to see the lovely chemistry between Caitlyn and Vi on the screen.
But in an interview, co-creator Christian Linke said that the full version of the romance scene in Season 2 was cut short and what they have now
is a toned-down version. We kindly urge Netflix and Riot Games to release the extended version of this moment for the audience who loves
these characters and their story.

Behind the Scene Cuts: “A Slap on the Wrist”

Arcane co-creator and showrunner Christian Linke spoke about the issue in an interview with League of Legends content creator
Necrit94. In the discussion, Linke agreed that the final version of the CaitVi romantic scene was much less explicit than the earlier drafts.

This is the shorter version, Linke said, and there were a series of considerations around ratings potentially cutting off a significant
part of the League of Legends audience. He jokingly added, We got a slap on the wrist.

When asked whether there was a chance of showing the longer cut, Linke laughed and said, It’s probably on some French hard drive, implying that
there is little chance of a director’s cut being released in the near future.

Fan Passion Takes New Dimension

Since Arcane has been confirmed to be a two-season series, the demand for the longer CaitVi scene shows how much the fans love the show.
In other interviews, Linke has stated that the creative team is actively working on new projects, and while fans are happy to see that, they should not
do so at the expense of the Arcane community.
