Aramco Partners with Gamers8 and Gamers Without Borders in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Esports Federation has announced that Aramco, a Saudi Arabian energy and chemicals company, will be a strategic partner for two esports events: Gamers Without Borders and Gamers8: The Land of Heroes.

Aramco will be sponsoring the $10 million prize pool Gamers Without Borders charity festival, which features tournaments across multiple game titles, as well as the $45 million prize pool Gamers8, a gaming and esports festival held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The event will feature tournaments in Rocket League, CS:GO, Rainbow Six Siege, and Fortnite.

This is not the first time Aramco has been involved in esports. The company began working with the Saudi Esports Federation last year when it became the title partner of the Aramco Sim Arena at Gamers8. Aramco has also been sponsoring the F1 Esports Series Pro Championship since 2020.

Ahmed Al Bishri, Deputy CEO at the Saudi Esports Federation, expressed his gratitude for Aramco’s continued support, saying that the partnership adds an extra layer of excellence to events that are highly anticipated around the world. With the extension of the partnership, the gaming community can expect new surprises through the creation of engaging, attractive content and experiences tailored to their needs.

Last year, Moist Esports, the organization owned by popular creator ‘MoistCr1TiKaL’, declined an invite to Gamers8, boycotting the Rocket League competition over the Saudi Arabian government’s stance on LGBTQ+ issues. However, the partnership with Aramco is expected to bring more attention to the esports events in Saudi Arabia.
