Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) was released in August 2012, and since then, it has been over a decade of intense competition, legendary rivalries, and innovative tactics. For professional teams, one goal stood above all others: claiming a CS Major.
These Majors have been the epitome of competitive Counter-Strike, giving teams more than just money but the opportunity to create history. Take a trip down memory lane and check out all the Counter-Strike Major tournaments and their winners.
The Legacy of CS:GO Majors
While the prize pools of CS:GO Majors were usually smaller than other events, they were considered to be the most prestigious. A Major victory means control, strategy, and a spot in the Counter-Strike history.
The BLAST Paris Major in May 2023 was a historic milestone, marking the final CS:GO Major. Team Vitality emerged victorious, securing their legacy in CS:GO’s swan song. As for the future, the first CS2 Major is planned for June 2025 in Austin, Texas, which will be the first Major in North America since 2018.
